Make Up Mirrors

How to Choose the Right Make up Mirrors

You generally want to look your best always. Women, most especially, are very particular about looks. That is why you will always find make up mirrors in women’s rooms. If you are in the market for a make up mirror though you should consider various types of make up mirrors before purchasing one.

Clear or True Image Mirrors

If you want mirrors that give you the most honest reflection of yourself, you would prefer the true image make up mirrors. That’s because mirrors such as these usually give you an image of how other people would see you. Your reflection would not be magnified but rather look as is. If you choose quality mirrors your face would not be distorted either. You would be able to see if your face or eye makeup looks even. With a general and an overall view of your face you would also be able to tell if you need to apply more make up or if everything is perfect as it is.

Magnified Make up Mirrors

Magnified make up mirrors is quite opposite to true image mirrors. What you will basically see is the magnified version of your reflection. While the standard is a 5 times magnification it can go as large as 12 times. With a magnified mirror you will easily spot what else you need to do with your make up. This would allow you do your eye make up with more ease and more perfectly. If you need to pluck and shape your eyebrows, using a magnified make up mirror would allow you to see more clearly and do the task better. You will even be able to give attention to blemishes in your face as well. A magnified mirror would surely come handy when applying a concealer on the darker areas under your eyes. Again although this will not present you with the most realistic reflection, it has its purpose too. Nevertheless, your choice of make up mirrors could be up to your personal preference. If you want you could also buy a make up mirror that has two sides, a magnified mirror and a true image mirror on the other side. This way you would have a more realistic view and a magnified one for closer inspection.

Lighted Make Up Mirrors

Well, good lighting is always imperative in applying make up. That is why there are lighted make up mirrors too. Light is built-in so the application of concealer and foundation can be done well and evenly. Of course, this is very practical if you travel often. If you stay in hotels where there is poor lighting you would still be able to apply make up quite accurately. These mirrors can be electric or battery-operated. But battery operated lighted mirrors are more versatile as they can be brought and used anywhere you are and anywhere you go.

Of course, travel make up mirrors can be on a pedestal or it can be much simpler. Again choosing which mirror to purchase really depends on your choice. Just consider the pros and cons of using each type before actually buying so you will get value for you money and you will be able to apply make up perfectly all the time.
